Playing Video Games
Even though you’ll be watching another screen (your television screen) while playing video games, it’s a great way to refocus your mind on something that isn’t work related. You can play your favorite game for a bit during a break from your job in order to recharge your mind and body and have fun at the same time. And with consoles like the Xbox One and PS4 allowing for online game play, you can connect with others and challenge each other’s skills.
Watch a Little TV or a Movie
Again, you’re still looking at a screen, but at least it isn’t your computer screen. Watching your favorite shows and movies on DISH satellite TV is a great, affordable way to unwind throughout the day. And, again, it’s the best way to get your mind off of your work for a little while so you can refocus your attention on something else and come back ready to tackle your projects.
Exercise
Exercising even just for 20 minutes is a great way to get the blood flowing and bring oxygen throughout your body, including your brain. If you’re feeling really fatigued and unable to focus, go for a brisk walk outside and get some fresh air while exercising your whole body. Or purchase some gym equipment that you can use at home, such as a yoga mat or some light dumbbells, so you can exercise inside when you can’t go outside because the weather isn’t ideal. The key is to get your body moving for a few minutes every day, whether you enjoy one long session or several smaller exercise sessions. Getting up and out of your chair will also help prevent health problems that result from sitting for extended periods of time.
Meditation
Many business owners find that they’re more successful, focused, motivated, and happy when they take just a few minutes out of their day to meditate. Whether you do this in the morning or in the afternoon, once or several times a day, just be sure to get out of your office and put yourself in a tranquil, quiet space away from the computer. Then let all of your thoughts cease as you focus on the breath and on clearing your mind.
With the right tactics, you can work from home and love doing it, even if you spend too many hours in front of your computer. Combat fatigue and eyestrain by stepping away from your computer for a little while several times throughout the day.
